Juneteenth is not just a history lesson.

It is a reminder that freedom has always depended on power — who has it, who is denied it and who gets to decide.

That story is deeply rooted in Georgia.

Juneteenth celebrates the end of legal slavery in the United States. But it also asks a living question: What does freedom require now?
